Accessibility
A site everyone can use
Many of the people searching for a home have a disability, or are helping someone who does. We build Home Connections so it works for as many people as possible.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA, and we check every page against it before it goes up.
What the site does
- Large, clear text, with good contrast between the words and the background.
- Everything works with a keyboard, and each part you can press shows clearly when it is selected.
- Screen readers work well here, with proper headings, labels and link text.
- Buttons and links are big enough to tap easily on a phone.
- Nothing moves or plays on its own. If your device asks for less motion, the page stays still.
- An Easy Read page explains the site in short, simple sentences.
What isn't perfect yet
Each listing links to the provider's own website, which we don't control, so those pages may be harder to use. If a provider's page doesn't work for you, the provider can usually give you the same details by phone or email.
Tell us about a problem
If something on Home Connections is hard to use, please let us know through our contact page, including the page you were on and what happened. Someone you trust can send it for you.
