How we handle your information
Home Connections asks for very little personal information, and only when you choose to contact us.
Who we are
Home Connections (homeconnections.com.au) is a directory of the homes NDIS providers advertise on their own websites. It is run by Dimension 5 Pty Ltd. We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Searching the site
You don't need to give us any personal information to search for homes. We don't keep what you type into the search box. We count searches, with the suburb or postcode searched when it's one on our own list, so we know where people are looking and where to add homes. These counts aren't linked to you.
What we collect, and why
When you fill out our contact form or provider form, we collect what you enter: usually your name, email address, an optional phone number and your message, and for providers your organisation and website. We use it only to reply to you and to act on your request, such as correcting or removing a listing, and we keep a record of changes made to listings.
We don't sell your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list unless you ask us to.
Visits to the site
Like most websites, our hosting service records basic technical information about each visit, such as your browser type and IP address, to keep the site running and secure.
We count visits ourselves, without cookies: the pages viewed, searches, and clicks through to providers' websites. We don't store your IP address or anything else that identifies you, and these counts are kept in Australia.
We also use Google Analytics, which uses cookies, to see how people use the site. It doesn't tell us who you are, and Google's advertising features are switched off. You can block cookies in your browser settings and the site will still work.
Information in the listings
Listings show information providers publish about their homes and their business on their own public websites. We don't publish information about the people who live in a home. If you see personal information in a listing that shouldn't be there, contact us and we'll remove it.
Where your information is kept
Messages sent through our forms are kept by our website host, Netlify, and in our email, along with any emails you send us. Netlify stores information on servers that may be outside Australia, including in the United States. We keep messages only for as long as we need them to deal with your request and to keep a record of changes to listings.
Seeing or correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@homeconnections.com.au. We'll reply within 30 days.
Questions and complaints
If you have a question or a complaint about how we've handled your information, please email support@homeconnections.com.au and we'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
